The Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame ExhibitsOur traveling Hall of Fame consists of two exhibit options, each exhibit containing all inductees since the Hall’s inception in 1985. The Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame inductees are a diverse group of women. United by their outstanding contributions to society, women of various races, backgrounds, economic levels, career choices, political philosophies, and religious beliefs are included in this grand collection of portraits. Many professions are represented. There are teachers, doctors, scientists, politicians, social activists, bankers, newspaper publishers, philanthropists, humanitarians, authors, a symphony conductor, a former prime minister, a Nobel Peace Prize nominee, a jurist, a Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, an historical preservationist, a true Western pioneer, an aviation pioneer, a former Miss America, and a Cheyenne princess. While some women were and are well known throughout Colorado and the nation, others were pioneers in their small communities. The Colorado Women's Hall of Fame exhibits are available for loan to
the public. An excellent educational tool, they assist in bringing greater
recognition to and awareness of Colorado’s great women, past and
present. Celebrate the extraordinary women of Colorado by inviting your
community to meet them and read their stories. All or any combination
of individual inductee portraits are available for presentation to your
community. They can appear on their own or may be used in conjunction
with a presentation by the Speaker's Bureau. The Portrait Exhibit contains professionally framed and matted portraits that vary in size from approximately 12" x 16" to 22" x 30". The portraits can be displayed on tables and easels or can be hung on the wall. These are the original portraits given to the Hall when a woman is inducted. The exhibit offers a biographical history of each inductee on a laminated sheet that accompanies the portrait and highlights the contributions that merited such an honor. Because these portraits are valuable and irreplaceable, they must be hand-delivered to your site. For that reason, it is preferable to display these portraits only along the Front Range. The Traveling Exhibit The Traveling Exhibit is a uniform set of digitally reproduced versions of the Portrait Exhibit. The 18" x 24" foam boards are framed with protective plastic borders and include the inductee’s biography printed under her photo. Each portrait weighs about 1 lb and can be easily shipped throughout the state. Welcome Potential Exhibitors The borrowers of the exhibits are responsible for insuring the exhibit while it is in the borrower’s possession and for any transportation or shipping costs.
