Juana Bordas Wins Award

Nautilus Book Awards bestowed Bordas with its gold award in Multicultural/Indigenous Literature and The International Latino Book Awards presented Bordas with its first place in business/leadership
award for her book The Power of Latino Leadership.

Bordas, in The Power of Latino Leadership explains how Latinos have arrived to where we are today, and how they are embracing a unique form of leadership. Latino leadership is a model for the 21st century. It has an inclusive community spirit that fosters contribution and service. It has an international, intergenerational scope and an immigrant spirit. “The Power of Latino Leadership” is for anyone who wants to embrace diversity and be a more effective leader.

 

Wilma Webb Receives Award

The Colorado Black Arts Movement presented Webb with the first Wilma J. Webb Award for Excellence in Arts. She was recognized for establishing the Denver Art, Culture and Film Foundation; refining the city’s art procurement process and advocating the return of arts curriculum to Denver Public Schools.
