The Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame Starts Scholarship Program

The Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame (CWHF) is awarding up to three scholarships yearly to women who are making a difference in advancing their education. The women have returned to school later in their careers, but have demonstrated leadership and community service.

The scholarship program was created in honor of M.L. Hanson, founder of the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame. This year we partnered with the Colorado Women’s Education Foundation (CWEF) to award three scholarships.

  • Vanesa Lopez of Westminster was awarded the M.L. Hanson scholarship to be used at CU-Boulder, where she is pursuing a Master’s in Educational Policy and Practice. She received $1000.00 from both organizations. She aspires to be a school administrator, Title 1 Coordinator, educational policy advisor, and/or a grant coordinator. Vanesa has volunteered for the American Red Cross and Aurora Public Schools. She currently works at Aurora Public Schools as Family Liaison and Youth Advocate. She moonlights translating Spanish at hospitals and has performed extensive military service.
  • Tiffany Stockard, who attends Front Range Community College and is pursuing a degree in Communications, received a $1000.00 scholarship. Her goal is to work in human resources or public relations. Tiffany has volunteered in the classroom with all four of her children, and managed her own business for many years as a hair stylist. She currently serves as team manager for her daughter’s competitive soccer team through Broomfield Soccer Club. Tiffany maintained a 4.0 grade point average while carrying a heavy class load and coping with a chronic illness.
  • Paige Admore was awarded a $1000.00 scholarship to Front Range Community College, where she is studying  for an Accounting Certificate and an Associates Degree in Business. After graduating from FRCC, she will pursue a Bachelor’s and then Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance at Regis University. She volunteers as president of the Front Range Boulder Campus Chapter of National Society of Leadership and Success, as well as Phi Theta Kappa. Paige received a Nationally Engaged Leader Award in April 2016.
